Food Review: PARK at Holland Village

PARK at Holland Village is a standalone restaurant/cafe in the middle of the (very tiny and random) Holland Village Park, i.e. just outside Holland Village MRT and the rows of shops where Starbucks is. It's been around for about 2 years now, and I've heard so much about their Mac n Cheese that I just gotta try it one day!

But first, here's their menu:

Truffle Fries ($11++)

Friends who know me will seriously baulk at this. Me eating truffle fries?! Not a chance. Hahaha. Yes I don't eat fries, but this was redeemed from my friend who bought it on the Sugar app. My two friends liked it and it was almost gone by the time our mains arrived lol.

Mentaiko Cream Pasta ($18.90)

This dish is also highly raved. The pasta comes swimming in a sea of cream with prawns and topped with a poached egg and a heap of shredded seaweed. I took one mouth of this and mmm~ It was very rich! But then again it's the kind that will make you feel jelat after a while. The prawns were fresh and pasta cooked just right. Poke that poached egg and watch the yolk flow~ The only downside is that I feel it's one of the more expensive Mentaiko pastas around...

Truffle Mac & Cheese ($13.20++)

As a cheese lover of course I had to order this right? It was really cheesy, creamy and heavenly! But I couldn't taste any truffle, and I thought the macaroni could be cooked a little more. But other than that I finished the whole plate without feeling too jelat! Ok well a bit towards the end but I didn't wanna waste good food haha.

When it comes to cheese, I make sure I get cheeseporn shots. HAHA.

I was quite surprised to see that it's so 'soupy'. Would have preferred if it was a little less.

The food quality here is fairly high, but I would say it's expected, given that you're paying quite a lot. Ambience wise it would be better in the evenings when it's less hot, and at night if you're looking for a place a to chill. They turn into a bar at night, yep typical of a cafe/restaurant in Holland V!
