Food Review: Pies and Coffee

Pies and Coffee is a cafe that has been rather successful, given that they've expanded across the island with 4 outlets. Needless to say, they specialise in pies and coffee, but they also have all-day breakfast items, which Xin Ting and I went for.

This is the one at Rochester Mall. They have more outdoor seats than indoor. But I like the ambience there, because the outdoor seats are just beside a waterfall, so it feels relaxing, chill and not too hot.

So these are their range of savoury pies! From unique flavours like Wagyu Beef Cheek to Lamb Shank pie to the common ones like Chicken and Mushroom, there's surely one for everyone to enjoy.

And they also have sweet pies, pastries and desserts too! I spie the Blueberry Crumble and Strawberry Tart!

Turns out XT and I decided to have the same thing haha. This is their signature breakfast consisting of toasted Belgian waffles with velvety scrambled eggs, cheesy chicken sausage and a Mesclun salad with homemade citrus dressing. All breakfast items comes with a glass of orange juice or apple juice.

This dish was indeed very well done! The waffles were crisp and somehow tasted quite like doughnuts haha. The eggs were as velvety and smooth as how it's depicted in the picture. The sausage was ordinary, nothing much to rave about. But overall this was filling and satisfying!

I'd love to come back here to try their other brunch items, such as the Smoked Salmon Stacked (smoked salmon and bagel) and their Hazelnut Banana Pancakes! Oh, plus their pies and desserts too! Good food plus relaxing atmosphere definitely calls for a return!
